About the role
The UK Student Recruitment and Widening Access Team supports the University’s strategic objectives relating to UK Student Recruitment, as well as its commitment to Widening Access and responsibilities associated with meeting strategic ambitions outlined in our Access and Participation Plan.
You will have previous experience of working in a customer facing role, and of undertaking administrative duties. With an understanding and belief in the benefits of Higher Education for potential students of all backgrounds, you will also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organised with great attention to detail, and thrive when working to competing priorities and deadlines.
About you
In this role, you will sit within Widening Access but provide administrative and event support across both Student Recruitment and Widening Access. The role involves processing student data adhering to GDPR, managing inboxes and answering queries, as well as providing administrative support for our on-campus events such as booking rooms. You may also be required to occasionally support events working with students from primary to Year 13.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 because the appointee will have substantial access to young people and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, an appointment to this post will be subject to checking and appropriate clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The successful applicant for this post will, therefore, be required to give consent for the University to check with the DBS for the existence and content of any criminal record in the form of an Enhanced Disclosure. Information received from the DBS and the police will be kept in strict confidence and will be destroyed once the University is satisfied in this regard.
