We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This is a technical leadership role focused on both delivering high-quality analytics solutions and coaching Assistant Data Analysts to ensure excellence across the team. You will act as the key link between business requirements and technical execution, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Team Leadership & Work Planning Day-to-day management of Data Analysts, including workload planning, prioritisation, and ensuring the correct structure of user stories and tasks. 2. Data Analysis & Development Characterise raw data to determine source of truth, granularity, dimensions, and transformation needs. Design and build data models (e.g. Star Schema), implement metrics using tools like DAX, and develop dashboards or hand off datasets for business use. 3. Requirements Gathering & Translation Work closely with business users to understand needs, refine them into actionable features aligned with data strategy and Wates standards. 4. Skills Development & Training Create and deliver training materials for team members and business units, promoting upskilling and a data-driven culture. 5. Support & Incident Management Manage the ServiceNow queue for in-life data support, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of issues within SLA, while keeping stakeholders informed. 6. Stakeholder Engagement Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and 3rd-party vendors. May be required to join major project teams to provide data analysis expertise. Requirements Knowledge & Experience Strong background in data analysis, modelling, and visualisation. Expert in DAX, Python, and data notebooks (Databricks, Jupyter, or Azure Synapse). Proficient in Power BI and Excel. Familiar with Microsoft Data Lake and data modelling best practices. Proven experience managing data projects and stakeholder expectations.
