As a Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Facilitator, you'll play a key role in advancing clinical audit initiatives, driving improvement, and championing evidence-based practice and learning. You'll be instrumental in delivering and monitoring our Clinical Audit & Effectiveness portfolio, helping to identify and act on insights from both Trust-level and national priorities.

Main duties of the job
Work with the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Team Lead to implement the Trust's Clinical Audit & Effectiveness programme in accordance with Trust Policy. Use effective communication skills to build positive working relationships with colleagues across the organisation, facilitating and advising on national and local clinical audit & effectiveness projects to meet Trust/Divisional/Directorate priorities, objectives and requirements.
The Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Facilitator will be a pro-active member of the team, providing leadership and support to the Team Administrators, and promoting a positive learning environment where changes are established and embedded to improve patient safety, experience and outcomes.
Job responsibilities
* Embed and work to processes outlined in the Trust's Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Policy.
* Assist with the development of the annual Clinical Audit Forward Plan to assure the Trust is meeting mandatory requirements (eg CQC, National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme, NHS standard contract).
* Provide oversight and facilitation of national and local audit activity.
* Work with colleagues to ensure clinical audit and effectiveness work programmes are in place which support timely completion of clinical audit and effectiveness projects within Divisions/Specialties.
* Be a source of expertise and provide advice throughout the Clinical Audit cycle.
* Co‑ordinate the review and assessment of NICE guidance.
* Ensure up-to-date and accurate records are maintained within the central clinical audit databases and other systems as appropriate.
* Produce timely and accurate reports monitoring the status of projects and NICE guidance.
* Provide Clinical Audit & Effectiveness representation at designated meetings and committees, and deputise for the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Team Leader as appropriate.
* Produce and present reports for relevant Trust Groups/Committees (eg Clinical Effectiveness & Audit Group, Divisional meetings) and for Trust publications (eg annual Quality Account).
* Support the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Team Leader in the day‑to‑day management of the department, including supervising the Team Administrators as required.
* Develop and deliver training in clinical audit for staff of all disciplines/levels throughout the organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
* Sound knowledge of the clinical audit cycle and practical experience of facilitating all stages of the clinical audit cycle
* Demonstrable experience of working in the NHS/Healthcare
* Experience of presenting information to Committees, Senior Management Teams and other groups
* Good understanding of information analysis, techniques and tools and the ability to present findings clearly.
* Excellent written skills to produce formal, informal and technical documents/material to meet the needs of the department/Trust
* The ability to work under pressure, prioritise own workload and meet tight timescales
DESIRABLE
* Proven ability to analyse complex problems and to support staff to develop and implement practical solutions to address them
* Knowledge of Data Security and Protection in the NHS (ie Data Protection, Information Governance, GDPR)
