We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 5 Practice Nurse to join our team.
We are a friendly, well-established GP practice with a genuinely close and supportive multidisciplinary team. We pride ourselves on creating a positive working environment where everyones contribution is valued, ideas are welcomed and professional development is actively encouraged.
We are a split-site, GMS, GP Training practice serving a population of approximately 7300 patients between our main site at Croftfoot and our branch within the New Gorbals Health and Care Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse to work collaboratively with our GPs and wider team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Chronic disease management (incl. diabetes, CHD, Stroke, Asthma, COPD)
2. Health promotion and lifestyle advice
3. Cervical screening
4. Ad-hoc wound care and other treatment room duties (mostly provided by external community clinics)
5. Supporting quality improvement initiatives within the nursing service
6. Supporting teaching practice for GP Specialty Trainees and senior medical students
We are looking for someone who:
7. Is a registered nurse with a valid NMC registration
8. Has experience in a primary care setting or a strong interest in developing within this setting
9. Demonstrates a passion for chronic disease management and preventative healthcare
10. Is motivated to contribute to the ongoing development of our nursing service
11. Is confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
12. Has excellent communication and organisational skills
