Job Summary
Band 4 Hepatology Assistant to join the Hepatology team at East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust. Post is 30 hours per week. The role supports the clinical and administrative functions within the Hepatology Team, working closely with the HCC Coordinator and specialist nurses. It is a dynamic position that involves patient care, data management, administration, phlebotomy, patient education and fibroscan operation. The candidate will need to travel between sites where required.
Responsibilities
* General administration
* Collation and reporting of data
* Database management
* Attending meetings and MDTs
* Provide patient education, face-to-face or over the phone
* Operate fibroscan machinery and assist with clinic runs, including relevant documentation
* Phlebotomy
Person Specification
Essential
* GCSE or equivalent Level 2 Functional Skills Maths & English
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Experience working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care
* Computer literate
* Car driver and access to a car for travel between sites
Desirable
* NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care / NVQ 3 in Business Administration or equivalent
* Experience working within a Hepatology Service
* Experience of working within the NHS
* Knowledge of cancer provision within the NHS
* Experience of multi-professional working and knowledge of medical terminology
* Exemplary written communication skills
