Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a Monday to Friday shift pattern.
The role is part of the business support team, providing secretarial and administrative support to the Specialist Children’s Services multidisciplinary team, including Paediatricians, Nurses, OT, Physio, and SLT. The post-holder will work independently for much of the time and understand the service well.
Responsibilities include supervising the team's day-to-day administration, ensuring smooth operation, and overseeing Band 2 and 3 staff within the service.
There may be delegated responsibility for facility/site management, ensuring health & safety legislation and policies are upheld to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role requires predominantly in-office work.
Candidates must demonstrate competency in computer packages, evidenced by experience or formal qualification (e.g., ECDL). A recognized qualification in Administration, such as HNC in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration, SVQ Level 3, or relevant practical experience, is required.
