Lecturer – Agriculture (Arable or Land-based Engineering specialism)

Salary: Up to £37,512 per annum (pro-rata if part -time) (dependent upon qualifications and experience)

Working pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year) or part-time applications can be considered

Location: Sparsholt Campus

Can you inspire and develop the farmers of the future?

If so, we’d like to hear from you as we are seeking to appoint inspirational and dedicated lecturers to join our agriculture team. The post holders will join an experienced team and play a critical role in the successful delivery and development of our agriculture programmes.

The role includes teaching, tutoring and assessment of learners in all aspects of the agriculture curriculum in classroom and practical environments. Our broad curriculum offer includes college-based agriculture programmes at Levels 1 to 3, agricultural engineering, and apprenticeship programmes in the livestock and crop sectors.

A desire to inspire young people to achieve their goals in the agriculture sector is essential. If you have not worked in education before but believe you have the skills to do so and are willing to attain a recognised teaching qualification, for which we provide support, then we would be very keen to hear from you.

The role is offered on a Full time basis but we would consider applications from those who could work on a substantial part-time basis (for example 30hrs per week). Please set out in your application form if you wish to apply on a part-time basis outlining the days/hours you would be able to offer.

Suitable candidates should have the following:

Essential:

1. Level 3 or higher qualification in Landbased/Agriculture or similar
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the Agriculture industry
3. GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent
4. Ability to apply working knowledge of theory and practical to a teaching environment
5. Commitment to continuous professional development
6. Willingness to undertake Level 5 teacher training if not already qualified
7. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team
8. Ability to use Microsoft Office
9. Well organised and able to work under pressure
10. A desire to interact with young people
