Job title: Systems Product Integration Team Lead (GCAP)

Salary: £54,793+ Dependent of skills and experience
Responsibilities
* Leading tasks that support the development of FCAS computing systems; leading various activities as part of the overall international team responsible for developing computing hardware and software solutions that feed directly into GCAP
* Interfacing into other parts of the FCAS national and international organisation on behalf of the team and leading subtasks with internal and external stakeholders
* Demonstrating the ability to strengthen relationships and forge partnerships with internal and external customers, industry partners and suppliers in the UK and international locations such as Japan and Italy through contributions to our activities
* Support and presenting in various forums that could include customer, partner and supplier meetings
* Understanding the balance of business and customer requirements; positively influencing activities in terms of schedule adherence and optimising engineering and business outputs
Qualifications
* Ideally qualified to degree level in a STEM discipline, HND/HNC, or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of Systems Engineering and the Engineering Lifecycle, typically experienced in applying subject knowledge in an integrated platform which may involve safety and/or cyber security related activities
* Knowledge of systems engineering methods and tools (e.g. UML/SysML, CAMEO, MBSE)
* People Leadership and/or Technical Leadership
* Subject Matter expertise in one or more Mission Systems domains
* Aware of Engineering and business processes, familiarity with implications of decisions on time / cost / quality and ability to support timely and accurate performance reporting
* Exposure to working with stakeholders outside of the local team, nationally and/or internationally
Team and role context
The Mission Systems Team
The role is part of the Mission Systems Delivery Team (MSDT), responsible for the design and delivery of the Mission System for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). The team follows an agile work planning process to develop mission system concepts, architectures, and designs, ensuring that solutions are innovative, robust, and aligned with programme objectives.
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Edgewing teams, contributing to secure and resilient system designs while collaborating across multiple disciplines. You will engage with engineers, architects, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that mission system designs meet technical, operational, and security requirements.
The position is based at our Warton site, with regular travel to other BAE Systems locations across the UK and to customer and industry partner sites in the UK, Italy, and Japan. This provides a unique opportunity to work on high-profile, internationally significant projects, gaining exposure to cutting-edge mission systems and contributing to the delivery of next-generation combat air capabilities.
