Responsibilities
* Manage a defined caseload of service users with complex physical and mental health needs under the supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist.
* Provide specialist assessment and intervention to support recovery alongside the multidisciplinary team.
* Develop rotational opportunities within the Trust, including male and female acute inpatients, later life services, and community settings.
* Provide Occupational Therapy input for service users on the ward to support recovery and enable discharge, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
* Manage daily caseload of clients with acute and complex mental health and social care needs, using client‑centred and evidence‑based practice to assess, plan, implement, evaluate interventions and document in accordance with local and national standards.
* Contribute to planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within the in‑patient unit.
* Assist with direction, supervision and support of Inpatient AHP support workers, and training of Occupational Therapy students and apprentices as required.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Trust AHP service and enhance skills through participation in Professional Development planning to meet the competency framework.
* Abide by the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards.
* Work across the AMHP 4 Pillars of Practice – Clinical Practice, Leadership, Education and Research.
* Apply person‑centred principles and evidence‑based practice when assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating occupational therapy interventions.
* Carry out interventions in hospital and community settings, including home visits.
Operational Requirements
