Mechanical Project Director 1309GRE Hinkley Point C (Permanent) Accountabilities: We are looking for a Mechanical Project Director to work at HPC. You will be responsible for overall delivery of the Mechanical Piping scope (350km of pipe, 35,000 valves in 7,500 rooms) and Ventilation scope. Responsibilities to include • Leadership of the Mechanical team including the associated construction management role and workforce • Driving continuous improvement to meet and then beat the estimating norms and creating savings against the estimate. • Developing the team so that it can improve from Unit 1 to 2 and consider how this knowledge and capability can transition to Sizewell for Units 3 and 4. • Oversee the workforce planning, ensuring that there are the right numbers of the right skills at the right time, working closely with the partner companies to develop multiple resourcing channels. • Ensure that the planned works are clearly represented with the Programme stakeholders, identifying key interfaces and required resource to deliver to the schedule, working with the Area management teams to achieve the optimum installation sequence. • Act as the key link between Engineering/ Procurement and Construction for Piping scope. Take overall responsibility for the safe and defect free construction of these Works, and the KPI’s associated with them. • Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture. Experience: • Proven track record in large scale projects (Multi £500m ) in the nuclear or similar regulated sector • Significant experience in complex piping installation. • Experienced in delivering and operating at a Senior Leadership Level. • Experienced in working in a Joint Venture, Alliance environment or similar. • Context of Role: • Mechanical focused individual to drive progress in next phase. • Deputise for Project Director to ensure Electrical and Mechanical alignment in working to common goals and substitution.
