About the Role
As a Junior Key Account Manager, you’ll support the management of designated key accounts, acting as a trusted point of contact and ensuring customer loyalty, revenue growth, and alignment with organisational objectives. You’ll work closely with senior team members to deliver exceptional service, identify new opportunities, and contribute to long‑term strategic planning.
You will be part of a team dedicated to "building and sustaining long‑term strategic partnerships with the organisation’s most critical customers" and will help ensure customer objectives are fully understood and aligned with our capabilities.
Requirements
* Maintain and execute account plans to drive long‑term revenue growth, margin improvement, and customer loyalty.
* Analyse data to interpret and drive customer requirements.
* Build and strengthen multi‑level relationships with senior decision makers and influencers.
* Act as the main point of contact for assigned key account customers.
* Support strategic account reviews, helping identify risks, opportunities, and long‑term growth initiatives.
* Spot and develop account expansion opportunities.
* Assist senior colleagues during commercial negotiations, contract renewals, and long‑term agreements.
* Work cross‑functionally with sales, operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance to ensure seamless delivery.
* Capture and translate customer demand forecasts to provide clear visibility for operational planning.
* Maintain accurate account information, plans, and forecasts within the CRM (Salesforce).
* Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer strategies.
* Apply analytical thinking to account planning, forecasting, and opportunity development.
Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
* 2+ years’ experience in account management, customer relations, or a similar role.
* Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Confident communicator with the ability to navigate complex customer organisations.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and Salesforce.
* Experience in customer relationship management, contract negotiation, and driving business growth.
* Knowledge of the Defence industry is desirable but not essential.
