Fixed-term for 12 months (maternity cover)
37 hours per week
Are you a self-motivated, customer-focused individual with experience of working in a busy higher education environment? Do you enjoy taking ownership of a task and working with a team to provide excellent customer-focused support to international students?
If you have a proven aptitude for providing administrative support to colleagues, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with students from all over the world, then this could be an ideal opportunity for you.
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join the International Office and play an integral role in working within a team providing immigration and compliance support to students and colleagues. The role will be varied and interesting and is ideally suited to someone with a background in higher education working with international students. You will need previous experience of working with higher education student record systems, as well as databases and spreadsheets.
Excellent customer service skills are, of course, essential, as you will be expected to liaise with applicants and students, university colleagues, UKVI and other key stakeholders. You will be the first point of contact for many queries from overseas applicants, as well as registered students. The role can often be demanding and will require you to be able to prioritise effectively and deal with deadlines in a methodical manner.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate*:
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Ability to manage and prioritise different and conflicting workloads
- Ability to work to deadlines in a calm, methodical and accurate manner
- Attention to detail
- Excellent administrative skills
If you fit the above description and are excited about the opportunity, we want to hear from you.
*Please pay close attention to the Person Specification in the recruitment pack and use the online application form to demonstrate that your knowledge, skills and experience match the full Person Specification for the role.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months, however, as the post is linked to a maternity absence, the end date is subject to change.
