We are seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to join our alternative provision team in Durham. You will work with children and young people on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, delivering personalised learning that supports both academic progress and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver tailored lessons in core subjects (English, Maths, and other areas depending on need). Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs, including SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and other SEND. Provide academic, emotional, and social support to help learners thrive. Build positive, trusting relationships with learners, families, and professionals. Monitor and record progress, adapting approaches to ensure successful outcomes. We are looking for someone who: Has teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience with young people with SEND. Demonstrates empathy, resilience, and excellent behaviour management skills. Can adapt quickly and use creative approaches to engage learners. Holds relevant qualifications (QTS desirable but not essential – experience highly valued).
