Youth Support Worker

Location: Swansea and Carmarthen

Hours: 8:30 – 3:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: £13.75 per hour

About the role

Are you passionate about supporting students learning and enthusiastic about making a difference to young people’s lives? Teaching Personnel are seeking a Youth Support Worker to work in Secondary and SEN schools across Swansea and Carmarthenshire. We have flexible positions whether that be part time or full time to suit your lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

* Support both Students who may face social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
* Assist the teacher when needed – classroom set up, lesson delivery, participating in activities (after school clubs, games during class times)
* Help students progress, grow their confidence and gain essential life skills for after education
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring
* Ensure the classroom is a safe, nurturing and positive environment
* Be available for flexible on the day cover if required

What We are Looking For

* A confident, outgoing and positive individual
* Experience in youth work, mentoring or education support roles (preferred but not essential)
* A passion for supporting and working with young people
* A compassionate and easily approachable individual who’s able to build relationships and trust.
* Hold a full UK Driving license
* Have an enhanced DBS child only (or able to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
