Your position
As Senior Team Leader, you'll supervise a small team of Team Leaders, labourers and contractors to deliver construction and maintenance projects across roads, footpaths, drainage lines and other council assets. You'll manage day-to-day operations, coordinate resources, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
This is a practical leadership role where you'll balance planning and administration with on-site supervision. You'll also play a key role in contractor management, WHS compliance, and continuous improvement of work practices.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Lead and motivate a team to deliver civil works and maintenance programs
* Oversee scheduling, rostering and performance management
* Manage contractors and procurement processes
* Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental standards
* Operate plant and equipment when required
* Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors and the community
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Proven leadership experience in supervising civil teams.
* Demonstrated experience in civil construction, maintenance, and drainage works.
* Strong communication and organisational skills with a focus on safety and quality.
* Competency in the operation of minor plant and equipment.
* Proficiency in using computer systems and mobile work management tools (e.g. Assetic Mobility).
Key requirements:
* Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent qualification, or at least five years' relevant experience.
* Current NSW MR Driver's Licence.
* NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
* Be willing to undertake pre-employment screening, including a pre-employment medical and/or police check.
* Desirable: Traffic Control certification or willingness to obtain.
* Access to Council's 9-day fortnight.
