IT Infrastructure SpecialistWarminster, Hybrid working, Every other Friday offGreat salary, BUPA and benefitsWe are seeking a customer focused IT Infrastructure Engineer to lead a team supporting a major UK MOD Logistics and Asset Management System.This role is responsible for providing support to ongoing business area operational systems and the development and deployment of new systems.The role requires the ability to coordinate activities with the wider Infrastructure team and programme stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of programme deliverables, with a particular focus on the JAMES programme.This role comes complete with a great salary, BUPA, hybrid working and our 9/75 pattern of hours giving you every alternate Friday off work.What will I be doing?:Working closely with other team members to ensure provision of required services within associated performance targetsWorking with other engineering disciplines (Systems, Test & Evaluation, and Software Engineering) and non-engineering disciplines (programme management, proposal management and operations) to meet mission success milestonesAdminister systems both from technical and security perspectivesSupport build and deployment of new hardware and software solutions in to operational environmentSupport technical investigations of problems raised against operational systemsAnalysis of data and production of data reports to support the customer needson call support of operational systems on a week on, week off rotaoccasional travel to Data Centres located in Walesoccasional visits to Warminster site may be required to work on incident management, support team meetings, demonstrations, etc.Skills required :Strong technical leadership within a busy operational environmentAbility to synthesize contractual needs and requirements into Infrastructure solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraintsExperience in similar roles working to industry best practice standardsBroad knowledge of IT Systems design, development, and maintenanceAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organisationClear and concise communication and presentation skills with an ability to convey key messages to technical and non-technical stakeholdersUnderstanding of IT solution lifecycle and methodologies such as Agile, ITILLogical and careful approach to testing and problem solving with both hardware and softwareAbility to prioritise own tasking to meet programme needsCustomer-focused attitudeDesired Skills:Familiarity with some of the following:Red Hat Enterprise LinuxMicrosoft Windows ServerVMware vSphere Product line (ESXI,VCenter)Oracle Database, PostgresRed Hat JBOSS Application PlatformHPE Enterprise Hardware and Software Products.
