The Growth Company (GC) is hiring an Community Support Worker to cover the North/West Yorkshire area to work within probation and HMP prisons.
You will be dual trained as a Caseworker and Activity Facilitator, providing advice, guidance, coaching, mentoring and support to a caseload of participants via regular 1:1 meetings and group interventions as appropriate.
This role will be based at Leeds and Huddersfield Activity Hubs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess individual learning needs and develop tailored action plans.
* Design and deliver training sessions and interventions for participants.
* Establish rapport and supportive relationships with participants.
* Assist participants in accessing and utilising information effectively.
* Document activities and progress in the CRM system, coordinating subsequent actions.
* Guide participants in implementing future plans and courses of action.
* Create and prepare learning materials.
* Lead group learning sessions to enhance communication, social skills, and employability.
About You:
* Experience working with offenders or marginalised individuals in training, guidance, advice, and counselling.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a target-driven environment, focusing on successful outcomes.
* High-level guidance skills for one-to-one and group sessions.
* Warm, approachable, and empathetic style to build supportive relationships.
* Must have a clean driving licence and own transport.
Skills Required:
* Experience in supporting individual progression is most important.
* Knowledge of issues affecting offender rehabilitation and desistance theory.
* Familiarity with National Probation Services, HM Prison environments, and local/national training and employment opportunities.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
