\uD83D\uDD39Are you interested in providing quality customer service in an administrative role?\n\n\uD83D\uDD39Do you want to earn money while you learn on the job and work towards a Business and Administration SVQ and a Diploma in Customer Service?\n\nA busy, supportive medical practice based in East Kilbride is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated Modern Apprentice in a Medical Administrator role. The Surgery is seeking a dynamic, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to engage in a modern apprenticeship with a view to permanent employment thereafter dependent upon successful completion of the course and probationary period.\n\nPlease note that this position is for an initial 24 month contract with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate. During this initial 24 months, you will work towards two qualifications; first, a Business and Administration SVQ and then you will use your knowledge from this and apply your skills to work towards a Diploma in Customer Service.\n\nThe job role will involve customer service through reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and providing a high level of customer service for patients as required as well as liaising with staff and external agencies.\n\nThe post involves administration using bespoke software and Microsoft applications as well as interacting with patients and other healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care.\n\nResponsibilities and duties include:\n\uD83D\uDD38Engaging with patients and visitors face-to-face on reception desk\n\uD83D\uDD38Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callerâs request appropriately by delivering quality customer service\n\uD83D\uDD38Using electronic media\n\uD83D\uDD38Processing requests for appointments and prescription requests\n\uD83D\uDD38Effectively signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition\n\uD83D\uDD38Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies\n\uD83D\uDD38Administration of patient records\n\uD83D\uDD38Working as part of a busy and supportive team\n\uD83D\uDD38Inputting data into the patientâs healthcare records as necessary\n\uD83D\uDD38Managing all queries as necessary in an efficient manner\n\uD83D\uDD38Carrying out system searches as requested\n\uD83D\uDD38Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times\n\uD83D\uDD38Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested\n\uD83D\uDD38Monitoring of stationery supplies\n\uD83D\uDD38Contribute ideas and suggestions to the smooth running of the reception and administrative functions\n \uD83D\uDD39Along with the duties in your role, you will undertake two qualifications while you work and will be supported throughout.\n\n\uD83D\uDD39You will have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of a medical administrator role and about the value of continuity of care.\n\n\uD83D\uDD39You will learn about the importance of effective communication, teamwork and confidentiality to provide quality customer service for internal staff, patients and other agencies.\n Desired Skills and Qualities\n\n\uD83D\uDD38At least 2 relevant qualifications at SCQF Level 5 (e.g. National 5/Intermediate 2/Standard Grades at credit) or a group of relevant Units at SCQF level 4/5. \n\uD83D\uDD38Applicants should have English/Communication and Maths at SCQF level 5.\n\uD83D\uDD38Good communication and interpersonal skills are important\n\uD83D\uDD38Previous customer service experience is desirable but a good understanding of the importance of good customer service is key\n\uD83D\uDD38You should be willing to learn and work hard\n\uD83D\uDD38Ability to work well as part of a team and learn from others\n\uD83D\uDD38Be able to use your initiative to work towards common values and goals of providing the best care for patients\n\uD83D\uDD38Time management is crucial - you will be part of a busy GP Practice team and will have to manage your time between your duties and working towards your two qualifications\n\uD83D\uDD38Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information\n\uD83D\uDD38A clean, tidy and business-like appearance (a uniform will be provided)\n\uD83D\uDD38Be calm and resilient when under pressure\n\uD83D\uDD38A commitment to continued professional self-development with an understanding that integrity effort common sense = achievement\n\nMust be:\n\uD83D\uDD38Able to collaborate and MUST be a team player\n\uD83D\uDD38Able to demonstrate energy and enthusiasm in supporting the core objective of the business ie. patient care\n\uD83D\uDD38Able to follow through on undertakings and ensure completion of tasks - being thorough and meticulous\n\uD83D\uDD38Able to work within a given protocol and after training, be able to make considered judgements when to deviate from that protocol.\n\nIf you think you are up for the challenge of working in a busy GP Practice as a Modern Apprentice, we would love to hear from you!\n
