About The Opportunity
The DNWP Lot 1 Remediation Framework and Integrated Asset Care (IAC) Framework are cornerstone programmes within the UK's nuclear decommissioning mission. These multi-billion-pound initiatives underpin the safe remediation of high-hazard legacy facilities at Sellafield and set the foundation for future strategic programmes such as PACE (Project Asset Care Execution). Delivering these programmes demands world-class commercial leadership, governance, and innovation.

We are seeking an experienced Programme Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a portfolio of major nuclear programmes. Operating at programme and portfolio level, you will provide strategic commercial leadership, ensuring robust governance, NEC4 compliance, and proactive risk management. This role carries line management responsibility for a high-performing team and requires strong stakeholder engagement across client, regulatory, and internal governance frameworks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement integrated commercial strategies, systems, and controls across the programme portfolio.
* Governance & Compliance: Ensure full NEC4 compliance, embedding commercial schedules, risk registers, and mitigation strategies.
* Performance & Insight: Drive benefit realisation, forecasting, and scenario modelling to inform executive decision-making.
* Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary commercial team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, clients, and regulators, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and governance standards
* Change & Risk Management: Oversee change control, commercial risk mitigation, and lessons learned processes to optimise outcomes.

Here's What You'll Need

* Proven track record in programme-level commercial leadership on major infrastructure or remediation programmes (£500m+).
* Expertise in NEC4 contract management, commercial forecasting, and risk management (CEMAR, ATAMIS experience desirable).
* Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
* Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business).
* Experience in regulated environments (nuclear, defence, or similar high-hazard sectors).
* Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS, MCIPS, APM).
* Experience in nuclear decommissioning or remediation programmes.
* Knowledge of UK Government major project governance and assurance frameworks.

Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non-British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out
