This would be an August start, but there may be an opportunity for the candidate to start in July.

The post would be suitable for those wishing to gain experience in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery prior to either National Recruitment and Selection, FRCS(Orth), or Article 14 application. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in research and audit.

We would tailor the post in accordance with the experience of the successful candidate(s).

Successful candidates would rotate through posts in lower limb arthroplasty, knee, foot and ankle, hand, shoulder, and elbow surgery. Exposure to trauma would be required.

The post will include working a 1:9 on-call rota.

Main duties of the job

This includes outpatient clinics in various locations, emergency trauma services both on the ward and in weekly fracture clinics, and undertaking theatre work under the supervision of the consultant.
