Senior Power BI Developer (Local Government)
£591 per day. Inside IR35
Hybrid. 4 days remote, 1 day onsite in Central London
36 hours per week
Salt Recruitment is working with a Local Government body in Central London to recruit an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to support the delivery of council-wide business intelligence and reporting.
This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with service leads and corporate stakeholders to deliver high-quality Power BI solutions that support decision-making, service improvement, and organisational change.
The role
You will take ownership of Power BI development across multiple service areas, transforming complex data from a range of council systems into clear, meaningful insights. You will work across the organisation on high-impact projects, including organisational redesign and service transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities
* Leading the design, development, and delivery of Power BI reports and dashboards.
* Translating complex business requirements into robust BI solutions.
* Working directly with senior stakeholders across council services and corporate functions.
* Extracting, modelling, and transforming data from multiple council systems.
* Supporting complex, multi-disciplinary projects that drive organisational and cultural change.
* Ensuring reporting outputs are delivered within agreed scope, quality, and budget.
* Producing and maintaining all required documentation.
Essential experience
* Demonstrable experience delivering Power BI solutions within Local Government.
* Strong hands-on Power BI development skills, including data modelling and DAX.
* Experience working with complex, multi-source public sector data.
* Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
* Experience supporting large-scale transformation or organisational change programmes.
Contract details
* £591 per day. Inside IR35
* 36 hours per week.
* Hybrid working. 4 days remote, 1 day onsite in Central London.
* Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.
This role is only open to candidates with proven Local Government experience.
