Overview
We have a permanent Senior Project Manager opportunity to join our Consulting Rail Design team. With shared office space in Birmingham, Derby, Manchester, York, Bristol and Cardiff, we welcome applications from Senior Project Managers across these regions. You will support our growing project management team, delivering work on major projects such as Northern Power House Rail, Eastern Routes Partnership, North West & Central framework, Core Valley Lines, Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade and Cardiff Crossrail. Our in-house engineers deliver design across all NR stages and all rail disciplines.
The Role
As a Senior Project Manager you will be a key part of the Rail Design team, acting as a team leader and taking responsibility for coordinating the integration of multidisciplinary designs across a variety of rail design schemes. You will lead projects and mentor junior Project Managers, while working closely with our client.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team to produce technically sound project management deliverables, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements
* Prepare, check and maintain project management information to enable Amey Consulting commissions to be delivered within quality, cost and programme criteria
* Oversee the actions of junior staff and take responsibility for their work
* Manage the commercial success of projects within your portfolio, controlling budgets and the costs associated with deliverables
* Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings and respond to queries
* Contribute to bid preparation and the general work winning function
* Drive effective health and safety practices within the team
What You Will Bring To Us
* Developed experience and expertise in Project Management, typically in a Project Management role or equivalent
* Experience in health, safety and welfare management, e.g. Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
* Capable of acting as day-to-day main project management contact for a project when required
* Ability to prepare and check deliverables to a reasonable standard
* Strong working knowledge of project management software and analytical tools
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of interface management
* Professional qualification status (Incorporated/Chartered or equivalent) or completion of a professional review/end point assessment
* Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject
* Full membership of the Association for Project Management (APM) and/or related qualifications
* APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent
