Job description
The Data and Analytics team is looking for a Junior Data Analyst. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid foundations in data analysis and who is eager to deepen their skills in modern analytics, data engineering, modelling and AI.
What will be your key responsibilities?
1. Collect, clean, and analyse data from various sources to support business reporting to meet business needs. Design and maintain dashboards and reporting and its associated architecture using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
2. Collaborate with business teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
3. Analyse datasets, identify trends and patterns to support decision-making.
4. Assist in automating data processes and improving reporting workflows.
5. Work as part of the Hays Travel Data team, and contribute to the delivery of data projects
What competencies we are looking for?
6. Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms Attention to detail, accuracy and analytical mindset
8. Problem solving skills
9. Effective time management and prioritisation
10. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
What experience we are looking for?
Computing Science, Mathematics or Data degree Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, charts). Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Power BI or otherwise). Basic understanding of SQL or other query languages is a plus. Awareness of data protection and confidentiality principles.
