Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and values‑driven Team Leader for Public Health Nursing to provide leadership and operational management within our Children’s Community Services.

We are looking for a leader who focuses on motivating, inspiring and developing people, rather than simply managing tasks. You will foster trust through empathy, integrity and clear communication, creating a culture of respect, collaboration and continuous learning. With a clear strategic vision, you will take responsibility for service delivery while empowering teams to provide high‑quality, safe and effective care.

You will lead and support a defined Public Health Nursing team, providing clinical expertise, safeguarding leadership and guidance on complex case management. Working closely with the wider leadership team and external partners, you will embed the service model, improve outcomes for children, young people and families, and drive service improvement in line with national and local priorities.

The role includes responsibility for workforce leadership, supervision, clinical governance, quality improvement and partnership working across the district. You will champion the Trust’s values of We Care, We Listen and We Deliver, ensuring services remain responsive, inclusive and outcome‑focused.

Main duties of the job

To provide leadership and operational management to a defined Public Health Nursing team within Children’s Community Services, Bradford District Care Foundation Trust

To provide clinical expertise to teams including safeguarding and provide support and guidance on complex case management

To guide and support staff to make sound clinical decisions supporting the delivery of high quality services

To work in conjunction with the Leadership Team to embed the service model across Public Health Nursing

To actively engage with key partners and stakeholders to facilitate effective integrated working across the district

To lead on defined pieces of work within the service to address key priority areas with the aim of maximising the impact of service delivery on outcomes for all children, young people and families.

To demonstrate the vision and values of the organisation while ensuring the quality and safety of services.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Current NMC Registration
2. Qualified specialist practitioner (SCPHN) or equivalent experience within Children, Young People & Family Services
3. Evidence of leadership roles within the service eg Team Facilitator, CPT

Desirable criteria

4. Evidence of further formal management, teaching and/or leadership qualification
5. Evidence of additional qualifications within a high impact area
6. Non-Medical prescriber - V300
7. Evidence of Leadership study

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

8. Excellent organisational, presentation and time management skills
9. Ability to demonstrate being able to work as part of a team.
10. Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults policies and procedures

Desirable criteria

11. Understand productivity and improving efficiencies
12. Knowledge of the local area
