The BCUHB Adult Learning Disability Clinical Psychology Department is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Band 8a Clinical Psychologist, or Band 8a Clinical Psychologist as part of a fully supported development post. This post will be based with Wrexham Community Learning Disability Team. Our Learning Disability Service offers a friendly and supportive atmosphere, and it highly values Clinical Psychology. You will be a core team member, working directly and indirectly with clients, providing consultation and support to colleagues. We seek expert Clinical Psychologists capable of delivering flexible, adaptive services for people with Learning Disabilities, including those with complex difficulties, through high-quality input and supervision of colleagues.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job
The role requires organization, flexibility, and the ability to establish effective therapeutic relationships with clients and colleagues. You will be proactive in providing advice and supervision, contributing to team health, facilitating discussions on client work, and possibly offering brief psychological support to colleagues. The varied roles of Clinical Psychologists in Learning Disability work are highly valued, and the post involves close links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme (NWCPP).
