The Family Support Lead and Safeguarding Lead role plays a vital role in building positive relationships with parents and caregivers, ensuring open communication and collaboration to support students’ learning and well-being.
The postholder will also take on the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring that all transitions align with safeguarding policies.

Primary Responsibilities:
8. Family Support Leadership - act as the key point of contact for parents and caregivers, supporting them through their child’s transition and school journey, facilitating open communication and fostering a whole-family approach to addressing complex needs.
9. Student Transition Support - develop and implement student transition plans for new admissions, Internal transitions and external transitions.
10. Safeguarding Leadership (DSL / DDSL Responsibilities) - act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring the school complies with statutory safeguarding requirements.
The successful candidate will:
11. be D/DSL trained or have a willingness to complete training.
12. have a strong understanding of parental engagement strategies, transition planning, and inclusion.
13. Have experience working in an educational setting, preferably with SEN students and families.
14. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families, students, and staff.
Please note that all candidates must already hold the right to work in the UK.
Due to the location and requirements of the school, you will ideally hold a UK driving license.
