The Finance Manager is responsible for leading all financial operations of the venue, working closely with the Business Manager to ensure strong financial performance, robust controls, and accurate reporting. The role provides independent financial reporting to the parent company board and the Senior Management Team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving commercial performance, supporting departmental leaders, and ensuring compliance with financial governance and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all day-to-day finance operations including accounting, payroll, cash collection, purchasing, and revenue and cost control.
* Monitor departmental performance to ensure effective control of cash, revenue, and expenditure, and accurate KPI reporting.
* Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including trading reports, cashflow forecasts, and rolling 3-month forecasts of revenue and costs.
* Prepare weekly cost reports on controllable overheads and review them with department heads.
* Produce weekly trading reports detailing revenue across all departments.
* Maintain capital expenditure and FF&E reports for inclusion in month-end management packs.
* Oversee the Sales Ledger function and ensure appropriate revenue controls are implemented and maintained.
* Ensure cash handling and banking procedures are robust, with regular bank reconciliations and prompt investigation of discrepancies.
* Manage reconciliation of banking receipts, credit card transactions, and reported revenues.
* Oversee the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring supplier invoices are properly authorised and paid in line with agreed terms.
* Oversee monthly payroll processing, ensuring payroll reports and control accounts are reconciled.
* Manage and mentor the finance team and provide financial guidance to department heads.
* Undertake additional duties as directed by senior management in line with the scope of the role.

* Experience managing and leading a finance team.
* Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain effective financial controls.
* Experience with accounting software packages.
* Experience using workforce scheduling software.
