Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or Youth Worker looking for a rewarding role supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Recruitment is working with a friendly and inclusive school in the NG13 area seeking a Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from Monday 1 st June 2026. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to secure a long-term, permanent role in a supportive school environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed in school. SEMH Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions for pupils with SEMH needs Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies Assist teachers in delivering engaging and structured learning activities Build positive relationships with pupils to support confidence and wellbeing Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff Help maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment SEMH Teaching Assistant - Requirements Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs Background in education, youth work, care, support work, or mental health support is desirable Calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to adapt to different pupil needs Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) What We Offer £100-£130 per day depending on experience Full-time position in a welcoming and supportive school Temp-to-perm opportunity for long-term stability Immediate start available Access to training and CPD, including behaviour management and SEMH strategies Ongoing support from a dedicated Tradewind Recruitment consultant Apply Now If you are a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, or SEMH specialist looking for a rewarding full-time role in the NG13 area, we would love to hear from you.
