Established in 1999, my client is a customer-focused planning, environment, and design consultancy with extensive experience in adding value to a range of development schemes. They work with various building material, minerals & waste,mercial and residential clients amongst others.
It's an exciting time currently, they are looking for an Environmental Permitting Consultant to support the Permitting director, and develop this department going forward.
Their other departments offer various planning and environmental services that work closely together to give aprehensive service to their clients.
Your new role
As an Environmental Permitting Consultant, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing and obtaining a variety of environmental permits from regulatory agencies for a variety of clients.
2. Providing regulatory guidance and reviewing permit applications to ensurepliance with relevant legislation, best practices and standards.
3. Conducting environmental risk assessments to identify potential environmental impacts and risks associated with proposed projects and operations.
4. Developing and implementing mitigation measures and management plans to minimise environmental impacts and enhance environmental performance.
5. Liaising with clients, regulators, stakeholders and other consultants to coordinate permit applications, consultations and inspections.
6. Keeping up to date with the latest developments in environmental permitting regulations, policies and guidance.
7. Business development with current clients and new clients where possible, along with cross-selling other services.
What you'll need to succeed
8. A degree or equivalent qualification in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline.
9. A proven track record of delivering environmental permitting services for a range of sectors and projects.
10. A thorough knowledge of the Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPRs) and other relevant legislation, guidance and best practices.
11. A strong understanding of the interactive environmental legislation, the planning permission and development process and themercial implications of environmental permitting.
12. Excellentmunication, negotiation and report writing skills.
13. The ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
14. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
