We are looking for a patient, creative, and empathetic 1:1 Tutor to support a young person in Year 10, currently working at Key Stage 2 level. This learner has experienced extended periods out of school and requires a nurturing approach to re-engage with education. About the Learner: Presents with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Can be very shy initially but builds strong relationships over time Enjoys creative activities and responds well to imaginative, hands-on learning Needs support with sentence structure, numeracy skills, and confidence building Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions focused on English and Maths Integrate creative activities to support learning and engagement Foster a safe and trusting environment to build self-esteem and confidence Track progress and adapt sessions to meet evolving needs About you: Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or similar backgrounds Ability to create engaging, creative lessons tailored to individual interests Strong foundational skills in English and Maths (KS2 level) A calm, consistent, and encouraging presence Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)Position - Tutor Contract or position start date - ASAP Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A Full time/part-time - Between 10 hours per week Hours - Various/ flexible hours Essential & Desirable Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people Experience of working with learners with SEMHTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must: Hold right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide references upon request Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
