Job Description:
Seeking a Talented Design Engineer - Mechanical for Materials and Manufacturing Sector in Cambridgeshire.
Our client is an established company operating in the materials and manufacturing sector. They are currently seeking a highly skilled design engineer - mechanical to join their team on a contract basis at their facility located in beautiful Cambridgeshire.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering
* Relevant experience as a design engineer with expertise in autoclave parts, bonded structures, etc.
* SolidWorks surfacing experience is required.
Skills:
Autoclave Parts: The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of designing autoclave components that can withstand high temperature and pressure environments. They will develop reliable systems ensuring functionality under extreme conditions.
Bonded Structures: Experience with bonding techniques, adhesives, and performance characteristics is required. Candidates must maintain robustness throughout the product lifecycle.
Design Fixtures using SolidWorks Surfacing: Candidates should demonstrate mastery over SolidWorks surfacing tools to create fixtures that enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Developing product concepts through feasibility studies based on stakeholder specifications.
* Creating detailed 3D models using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
* Conducting analyses including FEA simulations to assess structural integrity and reliability.
* Designing parts involved in adhesive curing processes.
* Preparing documentation, presentations, and participating in design reviews.
* Understanding DFM and manufacturing implications of the designs.
This is a contract role for an initial 6 months, with a rate of £40-£50 per hour (IR35 status to be determined). The work is hybrid, with 4 days on-site and 1 day remote.
