About the role -
The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of LMG. Reporting directly to the Group Executive Finance (CFO) & Group Strategy, the FInancial Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. The position is responsible for streamlining financial accounting processes, and improving the control environment through system enhancements and process uplifts.
Key responsibilities -
* Manage the day to day financial accounting for the company
* Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Executive team and Board
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
* Lead the financial control team to build a high calibre team and a high performance culture through coaching and strong performance management
* Develop and maintain internal controls including balance sheet substantiation and general ledger reconciliations
* Prudent management of cash flow including management of working capital, capital expenditure and corporate debt facilities
* Oversee preparation of audit and tax processes including preparation of audit papers and collaboration with external auditors and tax advisors
* Drive process improvements within the finance team to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial processes
* Work alongside the Finance Business Partners to provide insights into business performance
* Develop, enhance, and ensure compliance with key financial accounting policies
Skills and Experience you’ll bring to the role -
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or CA qualified
* Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior financial control role, experience in financial services preferred
* Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and financial reporting requirements
* Proficient in general ledger and financial reporting systems, preferably with experience using the Netsuite platform
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to stretch and develop a team
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
