Children’s Residential Care Worker

The workday can be unpredictable, involving organizing activities in the morning and providing 1:1 support in the afternoon.

As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of the children’s daily lives. The positive impact you have can be immense. You should be emotionally resilient and motivated to make a difference daily. Understanding our children’s backgrounds and ensuring their needs are prioritized is crucial. You must be approachable, detail-oriented, and committed to safeguarding at all times, adhering to all protocols and regulations.
Shift Pattern: 16-24 hours (including sleep-in), on a one-on-two or two-on-four basis.
Typical day in the role involves working with children aged 8-18 with various behavioral and emotional needs, including duties such as:
* Providing high-quality care
* Offering guidance, support, and structure
* Supporting access to education
* Promoting healthy lifestyles and positive choices
* Participating in clinically led training
* Household duties
* Record keeping and report writing
* Organizing outings and activities
* Attending meetings and therapy sessions
* Transporting children to various provisions
Requirements:
* Desirable but not essential: Full UK Driving Licence, NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, experience in therapeutic environments or qualifications, leadership experience, higher-level training and qualifications.
