Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist interest in Medical Retina
The Ophthalmology Department is seeking a full-time Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in Medical Retina. The successful candidate will join a team of 18 consultants providing services in Glaucoma, Diabetes, Cornea, Medical & Surgical Retina, Ocular Motility, and Oculoplastics.
Main duties: The role is primarily based at New Cross Hospital, with potential clinics and theatre sessions at Cannock Chase Hospital or Walsall Manor Hospital.
Qualifications: Applicants should possess FRCOphth or equivalent, or be on the GMC specialist register (or eligible within 6 months of interview). A higher medical degree and FRCOphth are desirable.
Experience: Essential experience includes a specialist interest in Uveitis. Evidence of audit and implementing changes based on audit is desirable.
The department features state-of-the-art theatres, a dedicated Cataract Theatre, and a comprehensive support team including Orthoptists and Optometrists. An emergency service led by Ophthalmic Nurse Specialists is available.
Additional requirements: Must have GMC registration, be eligible for UK registration, and pass a DBS check. Applications from those requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship are welcome.
Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum. The position is permanent and full-time.
