A Little More About Your Role
* Electrical Engineer grade with a proven track record in delivering projects for your discipline in line with client expectations.
* Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team providing design and technical advice in a WSP project manager capacity on a wide range of projects.
* Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resource for project completion inline with technical and commercial performance and delivery.
* Work using initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects of discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
* Work under the direction of the client and interpret project needs to meet delivery requirements.
* Promote WSP’s capabilities and expertise in the region.
* Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
* Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study.
* Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specifications for the discipline, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
* Development and line management of junior staff.

* Low voltage distribution systems
* Cable calculations (ElectricalOM or Amtech / by hand)
* Lighting calculations (software and by hand)
* Energy lighting

* Fire detection & alarm
* Intruder detection
* Access control & security systems
* Disabled call systems
* Data cabling and outlets
* Lightning protection
Qualifications
* BEng/BSc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline.
* Held or working towards CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council Chartership.
* RevitMEP training applicable to discipline.
* Proven track record of delivering a variety of projects in terms of scale and sector.
* Ability to engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions, coordination and debates.
* Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively to construction professionals and client teams.
* Detailed understanding of regulations applicable to the discipline and ability to demonstrate this through calculation.
* Working understanding of latest electrical design software packages to allow allocation/direction of work on projects.
* Good understanding of using Revit MEP or other 3D design software to allow allocation/direction of work on projects.
* Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
Team Information - Bristol Office
* Team of 25 mechanical, electrical, and public health engineers, part of the National MEP Team of nearly 400 engineers.
* Based in the Bristol office, offering easy commuting via Bristol Temple Meads Train Station (10 mins walk) and proximity to City Centre.
Team Information - Cardiff Office
* Team of 20 mechanical, electrical, and public health engineers, part of the National MEP Team of nearly 400 engineers.
* Based in the Cardiff office, offering easy commuting via Cardiff Central and Queen Street Train Station (10 mins walk) and proximity to City Centre.
