Hyde is looking for an experienced Bricklayer - Groundworker to join our busy Property Maintenance team.
As a Bricklayer - Groundworker at Hyde, you'll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You'll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes.
If you're a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we'd like to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
* Carrying out multi-trade repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance
* Erecting and repairing fencing and gates, repairing concrete floors, and addressing issues in garden areas.
* Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used
* Always working safely and following Hyde's health and safety procedures
* Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes
* Repointing old or damaged mortar joints, replacing broken bricks/blocks, and repairing walls, chimneys, and structural features.
* Excavating, repairing, and re-installing drainage systems, flagging (paving), and edging to paths and driveway
What we're looking for
* Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry, plumbing and plastering
* Confident using hand and power tools
* Able to work independently and manage your own workload
* A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly
* Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
* Physically fit and happy with hands-on work
* Experience working in social housing is a bonus
* A full, valid UK driving licence
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and general maintenance.
* Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
* Knowledge of trade-specific techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour
* Experience working in social housing is desirable
* Valid driver's licence
