Senior Cloud Engineer x 2 - Weston-super-Mare - New (REF44) £55k - £58k Benefits Hybrid working with great flexibility (Weston - based) A market-leading organisation is recruiting a Senior Cloud Engineer to join their infrastructure department. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering and improving secure, scalable cloud hosting and backup services across hybrid and multi-tenant environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Microsoft Azure, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity. You’ll design and maintain hosting and backup solutions that are secure, available, flexible, and efficient - aligning with business goals and compliance standards. This role suits someone passionate about cloud innovation, modernisation, and designing roadmaps for hosting and backup services. Duties and Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain public and private cloud hosting and backup solutions. Produce high- and low-level designs and technical documentation for hosting and backup environments. Ensure all solutions are secure, available, flexible, and efficient in line with company targets. Lead the technical delivery of hosting and backup service projects. Support the assessment and integration of new technology solutions into the existing environment. Work closely with service owners, project managers, and technical teams to ensure alignment across delivery and informing shareholders. Provide technical governance and ensure solutions meet defined architecture standards. Support capacity management, forecasting, and availability planning. Drive continual service improvement and assist with technology roadmaps and strategy. Mentor team members and promote technical excellence within the infrastructure function. Skills and Experience Strong experience designing and implementing cloud hosting and backup infrastructure (public or private cloud). Proven track record in delivering enterprise-level cloud or hybrid solutions. Experience with virtualisation, hyper-converged infrastructure, and backup technologies in multi-tenant environments. Proficiency in producing detailed design documentation and technical standards. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments. Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders on technical design. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices. Desirable Skills Worked in a managed services environment. Knowledge of VMware, Nutanix, or Rubrik. Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks or processes. ITIL v4 Foundation or Project Management certification.
