Permanent Midwife Position
37.5 hours per week (Part time available)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Midwives who have completed their Preceptorship Programme to join the Maternity Services at Hillingdon Hospital.
We are seeking dedicated and motivated midwives with high standards of clinical and communication skills. The successful candidate must have experience working in a busy, high-pressure Maternity Unit and be knowledgeable in all aspects of midwifery practice. The role involves providing supportive care to women throughout all stages of pregnancy.
Job Details
This is a rotational midwifery post, with the first rotation in Triage/DAU. Rotation will include community settings, requiring you to be a car owner/driver. You will participate in the continuity of carer model as part of the Maternity Transformation project, involving different team working models to ensure continuity of care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Practice as a midwife within the maternity services at Hillingdon Hospital.
2. Work across all areas of maternity services.
3. Be responsible and accountable for your own midwifery practice.
4. Plan and deliver evidence-based midwifery care in partnership with birthing people during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods, liaising with relevant agencies and escalating issues as needed.
5. Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, reporting deviations from normal to senior team members.
6. Operate within local and national guidelines, ensuring compliance with standards.
7. Administer medications permitted by legislation during midwifery practice.
8. Offer professional health and social advice, supporting and encouraging birthing people and their families in active parenting, liaising with multidisciplinary teams where appropriate.
9. Assist parents in caring for their babies’ hygiene, development, and well-being, promoting safety and security.
10. Continuously seek to improve maternity care, being responsive to patient needs and gathering user feedback.
