We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operator to be a Extrusion Team Leader at a PVC Extrusion plant; part of a larger Production facility.

The candidate should have a background in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. Preferably with extrusion experience but not essential, as training will be provided.
We will welcome applications from Graduates, with a minimum 2.1 Hons degree in a Technical subject with a hands-on and can-do attitude to develop, manage, and run an extrusion line, as well as wider Production Management skills.
The right individual will be able to demonstrate problem-solving and have strong personal traits, such as assertiveness and initiative, as well as administration and time management skills in order to succeed.
Duties:
Assistant to the WPC Extrusion Manager
Manage production in the absence of the WPC Extrusion Manager
Setup/operation/shutdown of the PVC extrusion line and peripheral machinery
Coordinating with the Maintenance Engineer during problem-solving, breakdowns, and improvement efforts
Identify faults and carry out basic maintenance activities
Requirements:
Right to work in the UK with no sponsorship
Experience of working in a production environment is preferred but not essential
Have an aptitude for technical work and a good understanding of the extrusion process, although full training will be provided
Ability to be flexible and work without supervision
Competent in problem solving, planning, and decision making with the ability to work under pressure, in a quality and results-driven environment
Positive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in both verbal and written forms
Hours: Primary hours of work: 06:00-20:00 Monday, 07:00-20:00 Tuesday to Wednesday. However, your shift pattern will change to 07:30-16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30-13:30 Friday, depending on workload.
