Job Description
Join ALPADIA’s team to make summer an unbelievable experience! We are looking for highly motivated people, who have the ability to engage and inspire young students, and who are looking for an enriching and educational experience themselves.
We are currently recruiting for Night Supervisors on a fixed term summer contract.
Your role:
2. Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care
3. Patrol the site systematically to ensure that the residence is secure and the students are safe.
4. Liaise closely with Camp Manager with regards to any security concerns.
5. Ensure that all ALPADIA rules, procedures and directives are understood and adhered to in full.
6. Monitor the whereabouts of students on site, ensuring separation of genders and discouraging night time wandering out of rooms and buildings.
7. Ensure the health and safety, welfare and discipline of students, anticipating discrimination, bullying, and damage.
8. Take responsibility for the school buildings e.g. locking up, lights off, etc.
9. Completing a nightly report and presenting this to the Camp Manager each morning.
10. Ensuring you are fully familiar and ready to enact Alpadia’s Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Anti-Bullying and any other relevant policies.
11. Dealing with all other reasonable requests as decided by the Camp Manager
Qualifications
Your profile:
Essential:
12. Previous experience working with children or young people in a supervisory, care, or educational role.
13. Ability to take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of students overnight.
14. Reliable, punctual, and able to remain alert during night shifts.
15. Strong communication skills to liaise with daytime staff and report incidents.
16. Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
17. Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergencies.
18. Mature, approachable, and trustworthy.
19. Awareness of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
20. Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
Desirable:
21. Prior experience in a residential or camp setting.
22. Recognised First Aid qualification.
23. Training in safeguarding or child protection.
24. Experience handling medical or wellbeing concerns (e.g., asthma, allergies, homesickness).
25. Ability to engage positively with young people to reassure them during the night.
26. Flexibility to support daytime staff when needed.
27. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in residential settings.
28. Security Guard Licence
