Salary: Up to £50,000, depending on experience
Hours: 35 hours. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

About the role of Security Analyst
Our client is an established Specialist Mortgage Lender offering an exciting opportunity for a Security Analyst to join the team due to company growth. The successful candidate will work in a small team, responsible for defending the organisation's hardware, software, and systems from theft, loss, and cyberattacks.
Reporting to the Technology and Security Director, this role will sit within the wider IT team and collaborate closely with the helpdesk/infrastructure team.
Responsibilities
1. Monitoring computer networks for security issues
2. Ensuring networks and systems are effective and protected against threats
3. Investigating security breaches and cybersecurity incidents
4. Installing security measures and operating software on systems and infrastructure
5. Documenting security breaches and assessing damage
6. Performing tests to uncover vulnerabilities
7. Fixing detected vulnerabilities to maintain high security standards
8. Staying current on IT security trends and news
9. Developing company-wide IT security best practices
10. Performing internal penetration testing if required
11. Assisting colleagues with security software installation and security management
12. Serving as an escalation point for security/network issues
Experience required
* Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role
* Previous helpdesk/IT Service experience preferred
* Experience in information security or related field
* Knowledge of network penetration testing and techniques
* Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
* Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities
* Ability to train others and share knowledge
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
* Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISA, CISSP are desirable
