DevOps Engineer
Urgent need for a MOD DV DevOps Engineer in the Bristol area.
The Role
As a DevOps engineer, you will be involved in various stages of each product's lifespan and should remain abreast of technological advancements to promote efficiency. To be successful in this role, you should ensure that all products are highly secure for the end client. Ultimately, a highly skilled midlevel DevOps engineer with leadership skills and the capacity to mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure using terraform
* Optimise infrastructure for availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
* Collaborate with software engineers to support application requirements
* Maintain high-level system security
* Lead troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure issues
* Collaborate with third-party entities on cloud/technical DevOps
* Work on cutting-edge defence programs, including sensor and cloud integration platforms
Desired Qualifications
* Strong background in IaC using tools like Terraform
* Experience with Kubernetes cluster deployment and management
* Proficiency in implementing VPN solutions and overlay services
* Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL environments
* Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Docker, Jenkins)
* Strong networking knowledge (IP Protocol, DNS, load balancing)
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly
* Strong communication skills, especially for technical concepts in a defence context
This role is based in Bristol and will require on site presence 4 times a week. As my client work closely with the MOD on very secure projects, MOD DV Clearance is a must for this one.
Salary is flexible and dependant on experience for the right DV cleared candidate with relevant experience.
