Job Description
Acting as the technical escalation point for the office on accounting, reporting, and compliance matters; Reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and quality; Identifying technical risk areas early and ensuring appropriate documentation and resolution; Supporting Accounts Managers and junior staff with complex judgements and unusual transactions; Owning and improving technical standards, checklists, and review processes; Driving consistency of output across Xero-based portfolios; Supporting training and upskilling of the team from a technical perspective; Working with Partners to mitigate regulatory, reputational, and client risk; Contributing to process improvement and efficiency, with a focus on quality rather than volume.
The Successful Applicant
3. Minimum 5 years' experience in an accountancy practice
4. ACA/ACCA qualified (preferred)
5. Strong technical accounting knowledge and confidence exercising professional judgement
6. High attention to detail with a structured, risk-aware mindset
7. Comfortable challenging work constructively and raising issues early
8. Strong written communication skills, particularly around technical explanations
9. Enjoys supporting others and improving standards rather than owning client relationships
10. Experience with Xero and cloud accounting environments
