Health & Safety Manager
Nottingham / Midlands | Up to £55,000 + Package + Travel Support
A growing, purpose-led construction and property improvement business is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor / Manager to support its continued expansion across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, people-focused H&S professional who enjoys being out on sites, building relationships with operational teams, and genuinely influencing safety culture.
This is not a desk-only compliance role.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of health & safety across a live operational environment delivering residential construction / improvement works, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure strong safety standards while supporting project delivery. The business is well established, growing, and operates within a socially impactful sector focused on improving homes and communities.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting and improving H&S performance across multiple live sites
* Conducting site inspections, audits, and safety conversations
* Advising operational teams on best practice and compliance
* Supporting RAMS review and contractor management
* Incident investigation and corrective action management
* Driving behavioural safety and continuous improvement
* Building strong relationships with subcontractors and delivery teams
* Ensuring practical, commercially sensible safety standards
About You
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:
* Proven construction health & safety experience
* Strong knowledge of CDM and general construction site safety
* Experience working with subcontractors / live project environments
* NEBOSH qualification
* Confident communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
* A pragmatic, approachable, solutions-focused style
