Team Leader/Supervisor Arborist
Location
Based out of the Mold depot, leading Arborist/Climber/Tree Surgeon work covering customer sites across the Northwest region.
Reporting
Responsible to Operations Manager / Depot Manager.
Purpose
To lead and oversee arboriculture teams, ensuring tree care operations, including climbing, pruning, and felling, are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. To manage daily site activities, provide technical guidance, and support project delivery across multiple sites.

* Salary / Day Rate: £46,800 per annum for permanent / competitive day rate for contractors

Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of arborists, ensuring safe and efficient tree care operations.
* Plan, schedule, and allocate daily site tasks, monitoring progress and quality of work.
* Carry out tree inspections, pruning, felling, and removal in accordance with best arboriculture practices.
* Operate climbing and aerial equipment safely, including ropes, harnesses, and MEWPs.
* Maintain and operate chainsaws, wood chippers, and other tree care machinery safely.
* Follow site risk assessments, method statements, and health & safety procedures at all times.
* Assist with site preparation, tree planting, and landscaping tasks as required.
* Keep accurate records of work completed, including digital reporting where applicable.
* Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on technical skills, safety, and best practices.
* Collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and clients to ensure efficient project delivery.
* Report hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly to management.
* Support recycling and wood waste management initiatives where applicable.
Key Skills Required
* Proven experience as an arborist with relevant qualifications (e.g., NPTC CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39) and climbing tickets.
* Leadership experience and ability to manage small to medium teams on site.
* Utility Arborist (UA) ticket or experience working near power lines is desirable.
* Skilled in the use of climbing equipment, chainsaws, MEWPs, and other tree care machinery.
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and team management skills.
* Physical fitness, agility, and the ability to work at height safely while supervising others.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet project requirements and weather conditions.
