Head of Planning & Development - South East/Hybrid/Flexible working £75,000 benefits package/bonus etc The Head of Planning & Development Advisory is responsible for operation and management of our clients Planning & Development Advisory division, including profitability, strategic progress and overall performance, working with and reporting to the Head of Consultancy. The role holder should be able to lead and manage a high performing team, plan strategy, and to inspire, demonstrating clear and consistent commitment to the company values. Whilst initially the division consists of planners delivering a range of planning and development advice to a spectrum of clients, the strategy for the division includes: · Improving the quality of the scope of work, to deliver an overall service provision · Full integration into the consultancy business with a wider geographical footprint · Coordinating the planning and viability advice to landowners, local authorities, and corporates · Placing land identified by the planning teams with clients for promotion across all sectors · Offering a wider range of services including for example: development feasibility and project management, and in this respect, there will be a cross-over with the Building Consultancy team strategy You will also have a fee-earning role and can demonstrate the delivery of expert planning or development advice to clients. You will typically have a varied project workload including the most complex residential, commercial, education, leisure, and healthcare projects. The Role 1. Has leadership and management responsibilities setting strategy for the division and agrees KPI targets for the division and its members, ensuring there are adequate resources to deliver services to clients efficiently and effectively 2. Is an inspiring leader and manager of the division, promoting high performance from all team members, communicating regularly via team meetings and by other means 3. Is responsible for compliance and process improvement, ensuring all division members have the skills for their roles 4. Is an ambassador for the company, supporting the promotion of the Company’s Vision & Values within and externally 5. Build relationships with clients and increase brand awareness 6. Collaboration with other Division Heads to win and resource new business 7. Generates new business for the division and the wider company and identifies new opportunities for expansion 8. Delivers the division’s fee target as well as any personal fee earning and objectives 9. Provides guidance on complicated instructions 10. Prepare, monitor, and report on financials - budgets and forecasts.
