Sports Graduate / Sports Assistant Job, Boarding School, Surrey (September Start)
A vibrant and well-established boarding school in Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and committed Sports Graduate / Sports Assistant to join its dynamic team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong sporting background who is passionate about working with young people and contributing to the wider life of a busy boarding school community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with the teaching of core Physical Education and curriculum games
2. Supporting the coaching of various sports teams across different age groups
3. Supervising sports practices, fixtures, events, and training sessions
4. Assisting with Saturday sports fixtures as required
5. Supporting pupils from Reception through to Sixth Form during PE lessons and extracurricular activities
6. Assisting with the maintenance and organisation of sports equipment and facilities
7. Supporting the planning and implementation of training programmes
8. Assisting with sports administration, including scheduling and communication with parents
9. Promoting sport and physical activity throughout the school community
10. Working collaboratively with staff to ensure the smooth running of sports-related activities
Boarding Responsibilities:
11. Four evening boarding duties per week
12. One weekend boarding duty in every three weekends
13. Approximately 14–16 hours per week within the sports department
14. Additional Saturday fixture duties as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
15. A degree-level education and relevant sporting qualifications
16. Experience playing and/or coaching a range of sports
17. Experience working with or supporting children and young people
18. A positive, caring, and reliable nature with a good sense of humour
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
20. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
21. Flexibility, stamina, and adaptability within a busy boarding environment
22. Competence in ICT and administrative tasks
23. A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to all aspects of boarding school life
24. The ability to act as an excellent role model for young people
