* Use pro‑social and motivational techniques to maintain discipline and good behaviour.
* Monitor attendance of allocated service users and promote successful completion.
* Maintain all service users’ records in the case management system accurately and timely.
* Work towards accreditation as a workplace assessor or deliver training assessments to selected service users.
* Promote Community Payback with colleagues, external agencies, sentencers and the public.
* Operate within community placement projects that run 7 days a week, including frequent weekends and possible evenings, earning a weekend allowance.
* Contribute to review and evaluation of all aspects of service delivery and support a culture of continuous improvement.
* Work together with volunteers or staff from partner organisations as required.

Qualification & Experience

* UK Manual Driving Licence – Category D1 Minibus.
* Evidence of commitment to teamwork and effective interpersonal skills.
* Experience of problem‑solving in a workplace or similar environment.
* Knowledge of safety at work, public protection and risk of harm.
* Basic knowledge of First Aid and willingness to undertake further training.
* Willingness to attain IOSH L3 or equivalent and L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA).

* Good written communication skills, ability to influence and model pro‑social attitudes.
* Ability to work while maintaining authority and to supervise people constructively.

Technical Requirements

* Basic knowledge of First Aid.
* Willingness to attain IOSH L3 and L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA).

Working Arrangements

The role is normally full‑time (37 hours per week) but can be arranged part‑time or job‑sharing to support caring responsibilities. The position is set to work on weekends and evenings, with additional pay for weekend work and a weekend working allowance. Flexibility at the start and finish times (8:00‑17:00) is required, with possible adjustments where agreed.

Salary and Benefits

* Annual leave: 25 days on appointment, increasing to 30 after five years, plus public holidays.
* Local Government Pension Scheme via Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
* Training and development opportunities through the MoJ.
* Access to flexible benefits such as voluntary benefits and retail vouchers.
* Paid parental leave (paternity, adoption, maternity) and free annual sight tests for screen‑use employees.
* Family‑friendly policies, including reduced hours and job share options.
