What's involved with this role: Job Title: Health and Safety Technical Admin Assistant Ref: Nuneaton 5275487 Pay rate: £13.90 per hour PAYE Role length: Anticipated 11 – 12 months Additional requirement: A Driving Licence is required for this role The role: We are seeking a proactive Technical Assistant to support the Council’s Health & Safety Team. You will assist in promoting a positive health and safety culture, provide day-to-day advice to staff and managers, assist all employees to take responsibility for health and safety issues for the employees they manage, and help implement health and safety initiatives across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: To provide day to day general health and safety support and advice to employees and managers Preparation of management information and statistical data with regard to accident statistics, DSE Assessments and other performance related information To progress the development and implementation of the health and safety management tool across all Service Area's working with the developers and local managers to improve, progress and embed the system To coordinate and organise H&S related training and maintain a recording system. This will include booking of rooms and ensuring employees and managers attend the appropriate training as required To assist in the preparation of training presentations on health and safety related topics as may be required To assist in the preparation of asbestos and other health and safety related reports to a number of audiences, including Elected Members and Senior Management Teams in line with the Councils Health and Safety Audit Plan To enter asbestos surveys onto the Council’s asbestos management database and to maintain the council’s database up to date upon periodic re-inspections To provide support across the Health and Safety team as required, to include dealing with written enquiries, Freedom of Information requests and invoicing, as directed by the Health and Safety Manager To assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures To assist in any Health and Safety Projects as required What the client is looking for: Educated to Level 2, GCSE A-C, or equivalent, to include English and Maths Experience of working within a varied administrative role Experience of providing advice on general health and safety issues Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and the ability to interpret appropriately Good computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, face to face, over the telephone and in writing Ability to set up and maintain accurate records Able to work and share ideas in a team environment How to Apply: Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
