Tax Operations AnalystJob Description

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.

Accountabilities
1. Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
2. Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
3. Identification of areas for improvement and providing rmendations in operational processes.
4. Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
5. Development of reports and presentations on operational performance andmunicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
6. Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
7. Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Analyst Expectations
8. Execute work requirements as identified in processes and procedures, collaborating with and impacting on the work of closely related teams.
9. Check work of colleagues within team to meet internal and stakeholder requirements.
10. Provide specialist advice and support pertaining to own work area.
11. Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to. Deliver your work and areas of responsibility in line with relevant rules, regulation and codes of conduct.
12. Maintain and continually build an understanding of how all teams in area contribute to the objectives of the broader sub-function, delivering impact on the work of collaborating teams.
13. Continually develop awareness of the underlying principles and concepts on which the work within the area of responsibility is based, building upon administrative / operational expertise.
14. Make judgements based on practise and previous experience.
15. Assess the validity and applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances that are not covered by procedures.
16. Build relationships with stakeholders/ customers to identify and address their needs.

Embark on a transformative journey as a Tax Operations Analyst at Barclays, where you will be managing the function to deliver first-class service to stakeholders and customers, facilitating timely and accurate tax relief and reclaim processes, managing associated operational risks and ensuring the function meets its objectives. You'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionise our digital offerings, ensuring unapparelled customer experiences.

To be successful as a Tax Operations Analyst you should have experience with:
17. Detailed knowledge of operational tax processes and associated risks
18. An understanding of Investment Banking products (mainly Equities, Derivatives and Bonds)
19. Detailed knowledge of Microsoft application (Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project etc.)
20. Proven experience in managing teams, stakeholders and producing/presenting senior management MI.
21. Adaptability to process/regulatory changes, prioritise workload and meeting tight regulatory deadlines.

Some other highly valued skills may include:
22. Ambition and drive to take on additional responsibilities and grow professionally.
23. Appreciation of front to back equity processing, particularly in a multi entity environment
24. Good knowledge and understanding of the implications that Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) and Withholding Tax (WHT) regulations have on Barclays and our clients.
25. Knowledge of roles and business activities carried out by other teams across Barclays' other business functions - with an understanding of how these relate to Tax Ops' role and business activities.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
